課程概述 |
Course description: The course provides students the opportunity to identify individuals’ health conditions outside the scope of physical therapy practice. Through the main courses, students can make differential diagnosis by history taking and physical examination and know conditions which may need an immediate referral without initiation of treatment. The information presented in this course is applicable to all practice settings. |
課程目標 |
Course Objectives:
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
1. Quickly identify the patient’s chief concern
2. Identify special concerns (recognize yellow and red flags)
3. Can make an appropriate diagnostic process
- Make a diagnostic hypothesis list considering all possible forms of pathology which may cause the patient’s chief concern
- Sort the hypothesis list by epidemiology and specific case characteristics
- Ask specific questions to rule specific conditions
- Perform physical examination to differentiate the diagnostic hypothesis
- Resort the diagnostic hypothesis list based on the patient’s response and specific examination
- Identify the progression of the disease
- Determine the appropriate patient disposition |
